Dear Sandy, Jenny, Ryan, Vanessa, Nigel (Jr.), Lillo and The Rest of the Family,
I can assure you that all of Nigel's colleagues and friends here in Luanda are shocked and tremendously saddened by the loss of Nigel. It is times like these when your heart is breaking that life may seem to make little sense.
There is a saying that may be trite but it does give me some comfort in times like this: "There is no cure for birth and death, so all we can do is enjoy and make the most of the brief interlude between the two."
Nigel was a dear friend. What I will most remember about him is his laugh, his sense of humour, his kindness -- in short how he enjoyed and made the most of his interlude. In this time of grief, I would encourage you to remember how Nigel enjoyed life and take that forward with you. Remember how Nigel lived.
May God grant you peace in this time of sorrow for you all.

Dear Ryan,
I worKed with Nigel during his first 4 years in Angola as his assistant, and came to know him as a very special and kind human being both as a Team Leader and more importantly as a friend. His death was a shock to no end.
Words can not say how much I feel for your loss. God bless you and your family, and give you all strength.
Sincerely, Manuela
