Life story
May 4, 1960

Born in the city of Lahore, Pakistan on May 4, 1960 to Ronald Owen Inglis and Jennifer Ann Perry. Nigel had one sister, Lillian. When Nigel was four and Lillian was eighteen months old they lost their mother. Mrs. Noreen Williams their maternal grandmother raised them. Their dad was often away from home because of his work in material and logistics management for damn constructions. Nigel followed his father’s footsteps, and was in the same line of work as his dad. He was material and logistics manager for British Petroleum in Angola at the time of his death.

Nigel was sent to boarding school to Burnhall Boarding School in Abbotabad, Pakistan for three years, and later went to Saint Mary's Academy in Lalazar, Rawalpindi. While in Senior Cambridge he met Sandra Montgomery.

On August 18, 1977 Sandra and Nigel got married at Christ Church, Rawalpindi. His Best man was Arthur John; the Maid of Honor was Heather (Sandra's sister).

Nigel and Sandra have four children, Jennifer, Ryan, Vanessa, and Nigel Jr. and two grandchildren, Jennifer's son Kyle, and Vanessa's daughter Naomi.

Nigel's first job was at print shop in Satellite Town, Rawalpindi. Sandra and Nigel and Nigel's Dad then opened their own print shop called NiSan. Later they opened a restaurant called Stepin. After closing the restaurant Nigel partnered with Melvin John and began a contracting business. Shortly after that he joined oil industry and worked with various companies from Amoco and then British Petroleum.

Nigel and his family moved to the Sharjah, U.A.E. in March 1993. The family then immigrated to Canada in 1995. After settling the family in Canada, Nigel returned to Sharjah for two years.  Nigel later accepted a position with Amoco which later became British Petroleum and transferred to Angola.

Nigel made the most of life; he traveled, loved the beach, stayed to watch the sunset and loved the outdoors. He loved sports, especially cricket, soccer, badminton, and table tennis.

He enjoyed music, and loved to party.  Many have described him as the life of the party. Nigel was a true extrovert, he loved people. His friendly, outgoing personality put people at ease and he made many friends around the world.  He was an extraordinary husband, father, brother, and friend.

Nigel had a good sense of humor and enjoyed hanging out with his sons and nephews, and was always game for anything including drinking them under the table. Nigel invited his sons and his two nephews to South Africa, and they still crack up laughing about the fond memories they have of that trip. He loved hanging out with them, and they have memories that will last a lifetime.

Nigel never liked sadness, so please remember him fondly, and raise a glass to a life well lived.
